Frequently asked questions
Who can take part in Newham Aspire?
Newham Aspire is for young people in and around Newham who want support getting ready for work. That includes people at school or college, leaving education, at university, or looking for a first job. Not sure if it's for you? Get in touch and ask.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. Our mentoring and workshops are completely free for young people in Newham.
How does the mentoring work?
We match you with a mentor working in a field you're interested in. You'll have regular, friendly one-to-one sessions where they share advice, help you set goals and support you as you take your next steps. Read more on our programmes page.
What workshops do you run?
Our core workshops cover CV and applications, interview preparation, financial literacy, and modern workplace technology including AI. We add new topics based on what young people tell us they need. See what's coming up on the events page.
I'm a professional. How do I become a mentor?
We'd love to hear from you. Whatever field you work in, your experience could make a real difference. Fill in the get involved form, mention that you'd like to mentor, and we'll be in touch about next steps and support.
Can schools, colleges or businesses partner with you?
Yes. We work with local schools, colleges and employers to reach more young people and offer richer opportunities. Select "A school, college or business partner" on the get involved form, or email us directly.
I'm under 18. Can I still sign up?
Yes, but please make sure a parent or guardian knows and is happy for you to take part. We'll always involve them where appropriate.
